Covid-19 UPDATE

Update as of 6.24.20

Dear parents, students, and guardians,

We are so looking forward to the coming year and pray that each and every one of you are healthy and well.  As mentioned in a previous email, we aim to see you face-to-face in August. However, Covid-19 dramatically changed how we did school this spring and we are so appreciative of, and impressed with, all of you for the support and guidance you’ve given your children during distance learning.  Now, as we listen, review, and comply with daily updates regarding reopening, know we are planning for every scenario to ensure protection for all.

As we plan for next fall we have made the following commitments.

•       The safety of each child and family at our school is our highest priority.

•       We are making contingency plans for three possibilities next fall:

  • California state or Contra Costa County allows site-based instruction with heightened precautions, or
  • California state or Contra Costa County limit student numbers in a classroom, or
  • California state or Contra Costa County health department mandates distance learning.

•       Our school’s action plan will align with state or county guidelines, whichever is stricter.

In the coming weeks, we will be submitting our plans for school next fall to our local county’s health department. Those plans will address each of the three contingencies. As soon as our county has signed off, we will start implementing the approved plans and will let you know the specifics of what we are doing by the end of July. We are so grateful for your continued confidence in our school. We treasure that confidence and will be working hard this summer to keep earning it.

Our school thrives when wonderful families like yours choose our Christian education. If you know of families who are concerned about how Covid-19 will affect their child’s education next fall, please let me know. I would love to talk with them about how we pivoted to distance learning this spring and how we plan to improve our approach next fall, if distance learning is still needed.

We are praying that you and your family stay well, stay happy and stay close to God this summer.

Always, in His service,

Lisa Bissell Paulson, Ed.D.
